Fan Question: Seungri-ssi, which celebrity friends do you have? I’m curious as to who you keep in contact with! Please boast about it!
Seungri: I have a lot of celebrity friendships now. I was close to SNSD, but we’re not on good terms lately.. ^^ I won’t talk about it ^^ We fought once so.. ^^ I’m also the same age as 2PM’s Hwang Chansung. We’re close. The most representative is KARA’s Goo Hara, but she’s going through a bad situation right now, so it’s a bit upsetting.. F.T. Island’s Choi Jong Hoon’s guitar.. leader.. and, well, there’s also MBLAQ’s Thunder, Sandara Park’s brother. And then.. Brown Eyed Girls’ Son Ga-In!! I’m very close with Son Ga-In. And Kang Min Kyung-ssi, Davichi… Honestly, I don’t meet in private. We text or call and talk about this and that, it’s easy to chat and give each other support.
Fan Question: Did you get close while promoting together? Or did you know them for a long time?
Seungri: Some I got close with while promoting. There were also some that came up to me first asking to be friends ^^. Yes, and I also have a variety of friends, such as actress Cha Ye Ryun.
Fan Question: How did that come about?
Seungri: Well, we’re not that close.. Just like telling each other to have a happy holiday~ Little bit like that~ I was never really into celebrities, up until recently..
This is a clarification done by a VIP on Seungri's recent interview.
"I think most of the people following this know that the translated sections about Goo Hara were somewhat wrong; Seungri did write that she was in a bad situation but he followed up with the fact that he felt sad/regrettable about it. The SNSD thing was blown out of proportion, but I think most people acknowledge that.
Someone mentioned something about Xiah Junsu's fans being angry. I am fluent in Korean so I read that part over and after replying with like 10 comments about musicals (they interview is kind of like a conversation, which is why it went on for so long), he said that actually the director contacted him first about the musical, but he declined it after looking over the music because he thought he wasn't a good match for it. He also says that because it's Xiah Junsu he was able to express Mozart (the character) and the music well but if it was him [as in Seungri himself] who did the musical that character wouldn't have happened. He continues by saying that if he had played the part it wouldn't have become a hit like it did with Junsu.
About the mention of TOP; I did think that he said a little too much. He did it in a nice manner and praised TOP and he probably revealed it because of Daesung and GD's visit to fatally ill fans/friends, but he revealed that a fan from Japan with a brain tumor sent TOP a picture of how much Big Bang's music cured him/her and sent him a letter. TOP wants to meet this fan. It's apparent TOP wanted to respect the fan's privacy, so that's the one thing Seungri did slip up on for sure.
Also, I think people need to gain perspective about the nature of the interview. It says there are 294 of Seungri's responses, and most of them to fans who want to know everything about him, and he was nice enough to spend the time to write all this and be honest and thoughtful. It was quite informal and on an internet blog and most of it was formatted more of a conversation than an interview. Out of those 294 responses, there were a couple that were questionable but most of them were rather deep (or at least well thought out, deep might be an overstatement for most cases) and praiseworthy to other people.
He wrote a lot of good responses on music and... since there are so many he wrote it's a bit too much to translate all of it, but tbh I don't understand why people say he messed up the interview or that he's rude. It's actually one of the best interview/talks he had (although of course, it was more informal and he was behind his computer). I honestly think all this nitpicking is a product of his prior image. Let's say someone with a reputation for being good with words did this interview -I think people would be praising him for being thorough and nice to his fans for spending so much time answering instead of twisting his words into some arrogant shit.
Obviously, I'm a Seungri fan, so I'm biased, but I assure you that my translation wasn't heavily skewed or anything. Obviously, the guy should be more careful, but it's definitely not as bad as people portray it to be and I think it's just another almost-if-you-skew-it viable excuse to hate on him. As a side note, it's interesting how AKP says netizens are angry and how other sites say his interview just "sparked interest." I'm sure those sites are just trying to avoid fanwars and all, but I still find it strange how badly AKP handled this particular article when they're usually not like that."
