[News] Publishing company settled the lawsuit with Big Bang by paying 420 million won
Big Bang won the lawsuit of the unauthorized use of their photos in a Japanese magazine.They have settled a lawsuit with the Japanese publishing company today.
On 20th of November, last year, Sankei Sports reported that Okra Publishing Company had to compensate 30,000,000 yen (about 420,000,000 won) for the unauthorized use of Big Bang's photos.The case was settled at Tokyo District Court today.
Oska once published a magazine called ‘the latest Hallyu Star Special- Big Bang’ but the photos that they used had not been authorized by YGE before.
The lawyer of Big Bang said, ‘ the publishing company has admitted that they had used the photos without prior authorization. Moreover, the revenue that the magazine gained has been offset by the compensation that it has to pay.’
A staff of Okra said, ‘ we have not explicitly said that we have reached a compromise.’
