[News] Big Bang on Healing Camp News Articles (120220)

Which Big Bang member looks most like an idol star?

Big Bang’s Seungri has given his two cents on his fellow members’ idol star appeal.

The Big Bang members appeared on the February 20 episode of SBS’ Healing Camp, where they confessed that when they were starting out, they did not know they would be an idol group.

“I joined not knowing the group I’d join would be an idol group,” said rapper T.O.P. “When our manager said the five of us would be made into an idol group, I looked at the faces of the other members and was shocked.”

Taeyang said, “I think I became a dragon the most (a Korean expression used to describe someone who’s made the biggest improvement). When someone would say we were going to become idols during our trainee days, I would think to myself: ‘Idol seems a bit far fetched.’”

To this Daesung added, “I didn’t even know we were an idol group. I thought we were just a group.”

Seungri drew laughs when he said, “Still, I think in terms of visuals, T.O.P and I have the idol look. Taking out personality, skill and only looking at appearance, T.O.P and I are the idols.”

T.O.P. added, “I was once surprised when Seungri came up to me and said, ‘Don’t you think it’s unfair for us two?’”

MC Kim Jae Dong then asked, “By saying it would cause harm to the other person, are you saying that this person is someone in the industry?”, to which G-Dragon responded, “That’s something only I know,” evoking curiosity amongst viewers.

Both G-Dragon and Daesung also shared their honest thoughts regarding making a comeback after a long hiatus, and also displayed their strong determination to succeed.

G-Dragon breaks his silence regarding scandal

G-Dragon appeared as a guest on SBS ‘Healing Camp’ on the 20th and spoke of the incident, “I took the hair drug test and the urine drug screen at the time. When the tests came back positive, I felt confused and I thought it was unfair. I never had committed the acts the tests were showing, so I didn’t know where things started to go wrong and I just didn’t believe it at first”.

G-Dragon continued, “I spoke about some things that I was concerned about during the investigation. We held a concert in Japan back in May of last year and there were many guests present at the afterparty of the concert. I accepted a cigarette from someone I didn’t know and I think that was the root of the problem. That was investigated as the central issue and that’s how it was revealed”.

Continuing, “We organized the party and we were pleased that the concert was over. I already drank a lot by then and the managers were enjoying themselves on their own as well, so I think I was left alone. I went to the bathroom and I felt it was not right to refuse a cigarette offered by a guest at the party, so I just smoked it without thinking much about it”.

MC Lee Kyung Kyu then asked, “Isn’t the taste between cigarettes and marijuana different? Could you not recognize the difference?” and G-Dragon answered, “I was already drunk by then and I think I felt that it was a strong cigar. I never smelled marijuana, so I could not differentiate it. The shape was the same as the cigarette I smoke”.

Then G-Dragon was asked, “You are not lying now, are you?” and G-Dragon replied, “No. I am not. The notion that lies would work doesn’t make any sense and I could not have faced the public if I were lying”.

Daesung talks about his car accident

Big Bang‘s Daesung opened up regarding his car accident that took place last year.

When asked how he felt when he heard the news of the driver’s death, Daesung answered, “I couldn’t think at all, because I never thought that something like this would ever happen to me. I was just so deeply sorry for everything.”

“The company asked if I was going to go home, but I didn’t have the courage to face my parents, so I stayed in my dorm room,” he continued. “I didn’t even feel hungry. I couldn’t focus. I was just so sorry about what happened, I just cried all the time.”

He admitted, “In my room, I read all the comments that people wrote online.” When asked which comments hurt him the most, he said, “I think ‘murderer’ was the word that really hurt me the most. That’s when I learned how heartless and cruel that word really was. I even had thoughts about suicide,” he confessed, breaking the hearts of everyone on the set.
