[NEWS] G-Dragon’s ‘BLUE’ is a Song that Appeals More to Older Fans

Idol group BIGBANG’s leader G-Dragon introduced a new song, ‘BLUE’ which is the earliest track to be released from the group’s latest album.

G-Dragon revealed what he had been doing recently and feelings about the upcoming comeback in an interview that was done to promote the new album with Naver, a website which was the similar to Yahoo in Korea.

In the interview, G-Dragon said, “There is a perception that idol groups are only liked by teenagers but I think ‘BLUE’ will be well-liked by people in their 20s and 30s. It would be a song that they are able to empathise with better than teenagers”.

He elaborated on the new album, “I’m always confident about the launch of a new album. Not saying that I’m ‘proud’ or anything, simply ‘confident’. The listeners can certainly pass their own judgement but I wish to say that I have injected a lot of sincerity and tried hard to be honest with my feelings when making this album.”

G-Dragon who participated in the process of composing and writing of lyrics of all the songs in MINI 5 slated to be released on February 29, spoke about the difficulties he faced each time he tried to create a distinctive sound for a new album. “As years pass, I get more stressed whenever I am preparing for a new album.”

However, GD added, “It’s a privilege and blessing in a way, wondering how people upon listening to our music would respond to it, which part they enjoy— I’m spending days and days pondering over these thoughts that aren’t real concerns.”

Lastly, GD showed affection towards other members of BIGBANG. “It’s funny that I’m saying this but from the way I see it, I feel that our group is handsome. Not good-looking and tall kind of handsome, just that each member has his own charms. It’s good to see the strengths in everyone and there’s a lot that I could learn from them as a Dongsaeng (younger close friend) and a Hyung (older close friend). It gives me some pressure since I am the leader. However, it’s exactly this pressure that fires me up to work even harder.”
