[News] Big Bang to donate part of Alive Tour profits to UNICEF

Big Bang is rising higher than ever with its ongoing global tour, but the group is also making sure to take the time to do good for others.

YG Entertainment recently revealed that Big Bang will donate part of its profits from its ongoing world tour to UNICEF Korea.

A YG Entertainment representative, Yang Min Suk, and UNICEF Korea secretary-general Ryu Jong Soo signed an agreement at the UNICEF Korea headquarters on June 14, agreeing that Big Bang would donate part of the profits from its Big Bang Alive Tour 2012 to UNICEF.

The donated proceeds from Big Bang Alive Tour 2012 ticket sales will go towards UNICEF’s vaccination program. As estimated 600,000 children are estimated to be able to receive vaccinations through this agreement with each ticket purchased being able to provide a vaccination for a child in Africa.

In addition, UNICEF and YG Entertainment will work to create special limited collaboration gifts, which will be sold at Big Bang′s concerts. Profits from the sales of the gifts will also go to UNICEF.

Regarding the agreement, Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon shared, “With the love we’re receiving in different countries through this world tour, we wanted to return that love to all parts of the world and so we decided to sponsor UNICEF. We hope the donated proceeds will provide vaccinations for many children, so they can grow healthy and without contracting illnesses.”
